Don't you betray your old friend from our base buildin' days This is... This is Konchi!—Konchi, Chapter 239
Yuichi Amano (今野裕一), better known as Konchi, is a member of Kenji's Youth Group and the tallest one amongst them.
He, along with Keroyon, declined Kenji's invitation in taking back their symbol, resulting in him surviving the events of the Bloody New Year's Eve of 2000 and not being branded a terrorist. He is later revealed to be the radio station DJ who broadcasts Kenji's songs to the people from his station in Hokkaido.
Appearance[]
As a child, Konchi had a big, egg-shaped head and was the tallest among the entire cast. He had small eyes and short black hair. As an adult, Konchi is still taller than Kenji. He now has shoulder-length wavy hair and a parted moustache. He wears hippie-style clothes and a bandana, and always wears glasses.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Konchi. From what is seen, he was a rather jumpy child, and he was often seen with Mon-chan.
As an adult, Konchi is a much more laid back person. He operates a radio station in Hokkaido and is happy with his life.
Biography[]

Konchi crying while encouraging Kenji to appear at the concert at World Expo.
Childhood[]
When he was little, Konchi accompanied Mon-chan, Keroyon and Donkey to the school at night. He was also present at the Hanging Hill courage test in 1971, and at some point, Kenji recommended him a song which made him fall in love with music.
Adulthood[]
Later in life, in Hokkaido, he meets a delirious Kenji and tends to him. While this meeting is where Konchi would record Kenji's song, neither men knows who the other is. He later rejoins Kanna and the Kenji faction while accompanying Masao Tamura, and encourages Kanna in recreating Woodstock at the World Expo.
